My New Breville Juicer

My business has been doing well and I decided it was time to do something nice for myself.

My new juicer!

Now that I am getting a bit older… ahem… I am trying to eat better foods and do more to keep myself healthy. I thought that the kids might like a juicer too, so I splurged and bought a juicer.

I scoured Amazon, reading all the comments on many different juicers and eventually decided that this one was affordable and had also had great reviews.
So far, I love it. My problem is in finding decent fruit (haven’t done the veggie drinks yet) to use for my drinks.
I love the apple and carrot combo and even my daughter thought it was good (after turning her nose up when hearing “carrots”).

I also love the pineapple (I cut up a fresh one), and strawberry combo.
It’s very easy to use, and must be cleaned right after use. The little mesh basket has it’s own cleaning brush and the entire thing is easy to clean, but I wouldn’t want to try it once the fruit is dried on.
I also bought a book with recipes, but haven’t tried too many of them yet.

Happiness is Good People

I have found it difficult to find good blogs to follow, and I’m not a constant blogger. My life is pretty boring, my garden is small, I have no home or garden to brag about and mostly I find it difficult to post any kind of interesting blog post. I also spend most of my day working online which keeps me very busy.

I have found some nice blogs to follow and one of them is written by a writer, Sharon Lovejoy. She spends part of her time in her home in Maine – Sunflower House – and because she is a part time New Englander, we have something in common! Sometimes something small is just enough to find an online friend.

She has the complete opposite type of life than I do. She is constantly on the go. She has many published books and does book signings and appearances. She travels the countryside visiting her many friends and manages to find time to share her photos on her blog.

But what impresses me the most about this wonderful lady, is that she comes by my little nothing blog – and leaves me comments! I think it is so sweet.

Thanks Sharon! Visit her blog here………………………..

Where The Cats Are

Well, if you have cats, you already know how weird they can be.

Richie likes to be in the middle of everything. I was trying to bake something a while back – can’t remember what – and he thought the cookbook would be the best place to sleep.

The weather must have been lousy, or he would have been outdoors. He just sat there watching me with his crazy look.

Fontana, on the other hand, likes the soft, fluffy rug in my daughter’s room. She is a bit of a chubby puffball herself!

Memorial Day is a Time to Remember

God Bless You

Today I am remembering the fallen soldiers and the military members serving far from their homes.

God bless the families as they wait for their loved ones to return safely from protecting our country.

I don’t have to attend parades or celebrations to do this, and lately I am not very social, so I will be at home working part of the day and cooking for my little family.   I will talk with my son about what this day means and mention that I had an Uncle who died in WWII.  He already knows about Memorial Day’s real meaning and he has heard me talk about my Uncle, but it is good to remember.

We will give thanks for the ones who gave their lives so we could enjoy this day, and every day, living in a free country.

This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us.
And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.
