Ice Waterfalls Roadside

When the sun is warm enough to melt snow but the days are still not very warm, ice waterfalls (I call them) form on the rocks and every year they seem to appear along this stretch of road heading into or out of Keene, NH. Excuse the blurriness of these shots since I was in a moving car.

Some of this ice was blue, but since I concentrating on keeping my car in the right lane , I didn’t get the best shots.

There are many scenic routes in NH and the entire northeast and Rt. 9 is one of them in my opinion.

Driving to Keene By Granite Gorge Ski Mountain

Driving to Keene, I took my camera along for more “drive by” photos.
Granite Gorge is a very small ski mountain on Rt. 9 somewhere between Hillsborough and Keene. My kids have been there to go tubing but none of us ski.

Little Pond in Winter Snow

Black and white photo? Or just winter.
I love to take snow photos but making them interesting is a little difficult. After a while they all begin to look the same.
I lived in Hopkinton, NH during one of the dreariest years of my life (“so far” as Homer would say), and this little pond was on the land at the house I rented.
We saw deer, beavers, turkeys and bears while we lived there. The kitchen had big windows that looked out on this pond and my son had fun playing in the water and catching frogs and other little creatures in the nice weather.
We had record snow fall that year and this is one of the pictures I still have.
